I don't really visit here often, even less so from the comfort of a browser. However, I thought I had to post this...
So much for all the hoopla about the launch of iPhone / iPod Touch 2.0 today! :P
Really disappointed here, so far. MobileMe is *very* slow; so much so as to be unusable. Various parts don't work at all, others too slowly to use.
I tried to update a still new iPod Touch 16GB that was never taken out of the box. It has 1.1.2 firmware, but when I updated iTunes to 7.7, registered the iPod and checked for updates, I am informed I can update to 1.1.4. My iPhone (jailbroken and unlocked with 1.1.4) indicates a "new" update to 1.1.4 is available as well. So, where the heck is the 2.0 update that was touted?!?!?
I went to Apple's web site and clicked the link to 'purchase' the update for the Touch. For several hours I have been receiving errors the iTunes Store is not responding, the request could not be completed, etc.
*Very* disappointing... It appears their infrastructure can't support the load in all respects. This won't make for a pleasant experience for many first time users, and even for the seasoned hands. And, it won't, and hasn't, for me!

Honda to the rescue!
Just a couple of days ago I was getting ready to put the cover on the Honda blower for the summer. Then, a 2 inch forecast dumped 25 inches of heavy, wet snow. I think "spring snow" us a misnomer... Sure looks an awful lot like winter to me.
Fired up the Honda and made easy work of it. This one snow made the investment all worthwhile and it certainly paid for itself.

Spring flower
After over two feet of snow fell here yesterday and last night, about the only spring flower in this neighborhood is this old wind chime.
Our forecasted two inches is closer to 25 inches here, and light snow continues to fall. Winter just doesn't want to leave...

Spring snow...
Heavy, wet stuff, which is a bit unusual for Anchorage. This was in early afternoon, and it hasn't let up. Over a foot here at home now and no end in sight.
Roads are treacherous and already heard one fatal close by...
While it's certainly pretty, it's sure making a mess of things now.
